apart from tht we also seeking tamil film especially shreya and namitha movie to be shown in GSC gold and premier class halls, we want to enjoy beer and combo chicken hot dog while watching movie even if it cost RM40-60 per ticket.....why they only screen english movies there, this is discrimination against indians..... .hope relevant authorities will look into this matter

I faced the same experience as well. I went to YSS office at Wisma Manickavasagam and was told the scheme is not available. The application closed back in June and no further details given.

What happened to the RM 15 million allocations by governmentfor Indian Entrepenuers which announced recently by Prime Minister? Who should we refer to?

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 12 – Former Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Mohd Khir Toyo has waded into the battle raging in the MIC between the Samy Vellu-Subramaniam factions by accusing the MIC president of giving the green light to demolish the Padang Jawa Sri Maha Mariammam temple that had sparked widespread anger and led to the 2007 Hindraf protests.

In an exclusive interview with the Makkal Osai Tamil daily that is the mouthpiece of former deputy president Datuk S. Subramaniam, Khir, now opposition leader in Selangor, said Samy Vellu telephoned him “one night about 11pm” during the crisis and told him to pull down the temple.

“He (Samy Vellu) said Hindraf people were gathering at the temple and turning it into a protest,” Khir told the newspaper. “He said to pull down the temple to stop them and not to give them room.

“Because the leader of the community is asking, I instructed the state secretary to give the necessary instruction,” Khir said in the interview.

The demotion took place a few days before Deepavali in 2007 and angered the Indian community.

The demolition is a key reason why Indian voters rebelled and voted the opposition in the March 8, 2008 tsunami that brought the Pakatan Rakyat into power in five states.

The MIC was accused of doing nothing to stop this and other demolitions, and paid a heavy price in the polls, losing most of the seats it contested including in Sungei Siput where Samy Vellu was defeated.

The Padang Jawa demotion was the climax of several years of unremitting temple demolition by local authorities in Perak, Johor, Negri Sembilan and Selangor, all on the grounds that these temples were illegal structures.

Khir also said he will “take action” if Vel Paari, the son of Samy Vellu, continues to claim or write that it was Khir who had demolished the temple.

“I did not do it… it was Samy Vellu who wanted it,” Khir Toyo told the newspaper.

Khir’s rebuttal is part of a war of words between Vel Paari and supporters of Subramaniam, with each faction using the Tamil newspaper under their control to throw accusations at each other to influence the 1,400 delegates to the Sept 12 MIC elections.

On Aug 6 Paari had written in the family-owned Tamil Nesan daily that Indians were angry with Samy Vellu over the demolition of the temple. He said his father was not involved and the people should be angry with Khir as it was he who was responsible for the demolition.

The MIC election is seen as a do-or-die battle by many and is generating unusual heat compared to previous elections.

This is because two camps — that of Samy Vellu and Subramaniam — are going head-on by fielding their respective candidates for all the posts up for grabs.

“With Samy Vellu departing there is unusual urgency and heat in this election because the party is at a crossroads. The veteran leader is departing and two rival teams are fighting to fill the vacuum," a former MIC vice-president said.

“That’s why it is a do-or-die battle with the winner taking all and the loser disappearing from the scene,” the MIC leader said.

Samy Vellu, who was elected unopposed in March for an 11th term as president, has indicated he would quit about a year after the Sept 12 election, if at all.

Subramaniam is fighting the final battle of his career as deputy president in a three way fight between him, incumbent Datuk G. Palanivel and former Samy Vellu-blue-eyed boy Datuk S. Sothinathan.

GEORGE TOWN: Four of the 24 Kampung Buah Pala houseowners have agreed to the compensation offered by developer Nusmetro Ventures (P) Sdn Bhd.

Seri Delima assemblyman R.S.N. Rayer said the four signed the agreement last Friday before the offer expired on noon that day.

“Initially, 15 houseowners agreed to the offer but only four turned up to sign the deal at Deputy Chief Minister II Prof Dr P. Ramasamy’s office.

“It is most unfortunate that the rest who did not sign have prepare for the worst,” he said last night.

Asked whether the state government would help the other houseowners to negotiate with the developer if they changed their minds, Rayer said it would be difficult.

“The developer is quite firm in its stand and I don’t want to comment further,” he added.

Earlier in the day, Rayer said all the villagers should accept the double-storey terrace houses offered by Nusmetro as the houses would be built within the same plot of land.

“The developer has even agreed to build a temple. Those who missed the offer should wake up and think about the nine houseowners who had move out with less compensation, ranging from just RM40,000 to RM80,000 before the general election last year,” he said after the state assembly sitting.

Rayer also explained that his promise of protecting the village “over my dead body” was made on condition that the villagers had to vacate their homes without getting a single sen.

“The circumstances is different now.

“They’re offered double-storey houses worth about RM500,000. I don’t see any reason for me to stand in front of the bulldozers,” he said

I still don't seem to digest,why we Indian bloggers and columist doesn't forumized this issue and spread Lim Guan Eng's bertrayal to Indians in Kg.Buah Pala and his remarks addressing us as over demanding and unjustified.

He should pay the price for his remarks and betrayal to us. Lim Kit siang,karpal and Anwar whom we trusted and idolized turn the face to us and started to blame us for our demand" hey look so called THE BOSS, we are not over demanding or unjustified, we only asked what belongs to us, Kg.Buah Pala was sold under the new adminstration, and I have all the statutory evidence to prove that so if you want to play politics using our hard earned heritage and rights then you shall get ready for your disastorous ending in coming Election.

We have been victimized in all circumstances. BN or PR end of the day we indians are still in deep shit.

PR even worst, in only 1.5 years of controling, they have neglected the Indians and has not fullfilled any of 2008 election promised to Indians.
So morale of the story is never trusted leaders whom are desperate and threw empty promises to us in coming election, we have to think as a analytical community where we have to analyse technically and logically the contribution,fullfilled manifestos and efforts taken by any parties before we cast our votes, then we would posesses a significant demanding power although we are minority( we have shaken the 52 year old Government) so we are the deciding factor in Malaysian Politics.

Sad ending for Kg Buah Pala Residents

Dear friends, & Bloggers,

I share Kg Buah Pala residents pain and frustration. Let us not jump over the gun and be too emotional. Heritage village due to 200 years and why no registration or other means of ownership been initiated for the past 52 years by the residents committe or Indian based political parties? I am not trying to add salt to the wound , let us be practical and realistic. Except our mistakes and ignorance.

Damage have been done by the previous state goverment and stop accussing the PKR goverment. Legally speaking the Kg Buah Pala residents are fighting at a loosing battle. This shows how our Indian society been influence by emotions and sentiments.

Hi Everyone,
I TOTALLY agree with VJ.
I too feel that our Indians need to have a MAJOR paradigm shift.
Stop expecting things from political drivers.
You have your future in your hands to decide.
How to go about it is another issue.
What needs to be done is for you to find out.
I was amazed how little our Indians know about what to do, how to do and whom to see to get things done. (SAD). Why do you think this is happening?
Purely because every political "driver" has stressed to our Indians that we have to depend on them (follow protocal). Otherwise no one will listen to us and assist.
This I feel is NOT true. I have approached certain departments myself and have been assisted without any setbacks. How's that possible. Well its again the fear created to our people regarding the non response from the relevant departments. Another factor will be the ignorance of our people of knowledge. Every family should instill this crave to seek knowledge no matter what it takes.

I was attending some business and education seminars in ipoh . Speaking to the (indian) presenter later on and asked him about the ground responses. He said the response from indians and malays lacking . It seems it's easier to gather indians for demonstration rather than such self-intuitive and self development activities .

Lets Concentrate on building an educated society, implant correct values and exercise tolerance.

Dear brothers n sisters, i understand that some Indian are going thru hard shape in their life but i wonder why Indian always waste thier time by doing hopeless things. We have many ways to come up in our life. First of all Kg Buah Pala land doesnt belongs to Indians (its goverment land) then why fight and insult our Indian community. There are so many oppertunity around but we fail to grab it. Nobody is there to help us unless we help ourself. Residens of Kg Buah Pala should have own the land long long time ago but crying now at last minute. Honestly i dont blame the goverment but we act very slow. Lets think different and create a good image for Indian.

500 ஆண்டுகள் கூட, மாற்றான் நிலத்தில் இருக்கலாம் என்பது நியாயமா? அரசாங்கம், என்ன ஊருக்கு இளைத்தவனா? இது ஒரு தனியார் நிலமாக இருந்திருந்தால், இந்நேரம் நிலைமை தலைகீழ். இவர்களுக்கு போராட யார் வந்திருப்பார்? இப்போது தெரிகிறதா?எல்லாம் அரசியல்; அக்கறை அல்ல! எல்லாம் நாடகம் ! ஆடு நனையுதே..ஓநாய் கதறுது!

இங்கு குடியிருந்த மக்கள் கொஞ்சம் யோசிக்க வேண்டும். கேட்க யாருமில்லை, கட்டணம் எதுவுமில்லை என்றால் எவ்வளவு காலம் வேண்டுமானாலும் தங்கிக்கலாமா? இதைப்பற்றி இதுவரை யோசித்தது கூட இல்லையா? ஏதாவது ஒரு நடவடிக்கை? எதுவும் இல்லையே!

அரசு நிலமாக இருந்த நிலத்தில் 200 ஆண்டுகள், 4 தலைமுறைகள் இருந்த நிலத்தை மீட்க, ஆண்டு கணக்காய் அதிக வாய்ப்புகள் இருந்தும், சும்மா இருந்துவிட்டு, இன்று தனியார் நிலமாய் மாறியபின், அய்யோ..அய்யய்யோ என்று அலறுவதா?

சரி நிலம் தருகிறேன்..200 ஆண்டுகளுக்கான வாடகை கொடு என்று கேட்டால் என்ன செய்வீர்கள்? அதையும் தவறு என்று சொல்வீரா? உன் நிலமாய் இருந்தால் விடுவீரா?

200 ஆண்டுகள் வாயை மூடி கிடந்த அரசாங்கம் இப்போது துரோகியா? இப்போது திடீரென அக்கறை வந்தது போல் நடிக்கும் கட்சிகள் சகோதரனா?

சாமியின் உறவினர் “வைரத்திற்கு பட்டை தீட்டுகின்றவர்” நுழைகிறார்

எஸ் பி முத்துவேலுவைப் பொறுத்த வரை மஇகா இளைஞர் பிரிவு உறுப்பினர்கள் “பட்டை தீட்டப்படாத வைரங்கள்”. அவர்களை மின்னச்செய்வதற்கு அவர்கள் சரியான முறையில் பட்டை தீட்டப்பட வேண்டும் என்று அவர் கருதுகிறார்.

38 வயதான முத்துவேலு பிரிட்டனில் தேர்ச்சி பெற்ற வழக்குரைஞர் ஆவார். மஇகா தலைவர் எஸ் சாமிவேலு அவருடைய பெரியப்பா ஆவார். கட்சியின் இளைஞர் பிரிவுக்கு புதிய பாதை தேவைப்படுவதாகவும் அவர் கருதுகிறார்.

இன்று தமது வழக்கறிஞர் அலுவலகத்தில் நடத்திய நிருபர்கள் சந்திப்பில் அவர், ஆகஸ்ட் மாதம் 16 ம் தேதி நடைபெறவிருக்கும் இளைஞர் பிரிவுக்கான தேர்தல்களில் தாம் தலைவர் பதவிக்கு போட்டியிடப் போவதாக அறிவித்தார்.

தற்போது அந்தப் பதவியை டி மோகன் வகித்து வருகிறார். முன்னாள் இளைஞர் பிரிவுத் தலைவரான எஸ் ஏ விக்னேஸ்வரன் பதவி துறந்த பின்னர் அவரை இளைஞர் பிரிவின் ஒருங்கிணைப்பாளராக கடந்த ஆண்டு சாமிவேலு நியமித்தார்.

தனிப்பட்ட புகழுக்காகவோ அல்லது ஆதாயத்திற்காகவோ தாம் இதனைச் செய்யவில்லை என்பதை வலியுறுத்திய முத்துவேலு கட்சியிலும் சமூகத்திலும் உருப்படியான மாற்றங்களைக் கொண்டு வர வேண்டும் என்ற விருப்பத்தினால் தூண்டப்பட்டு அந்த முடிவைச் செய்ததாகக் கூறினார்.

“கட்சி மற்றும் பொதுவாக சமூகத்தின் மேம்பாட்டுக்காக இளைஞர் பிரிவுக்கு புதிய பாதை தேவை என்ற உறுதியான கருத்தைக் கொண்டிருப்பது நான் போட்டியிட விரும்புவதற்கான காரணம்”, என்று அவர் தெரிவித்தார்.

“மாற்றத்தைத் தவிர்க்க முடியாது என்ற தருணம் வந்து விட்டது என்றும் அந்த மாற்றங்கள் சமூகத்தின் தேவைகளுக்கும் அவாக்களுக்கும் ஏற்ப இருக்க வேண்டும்”, என்றும் முத்துவேலு கூறினார்.

“இளைஞர் பிரிவு முக்கியமானதாகும். ஏனெனில் வாக்காளர்களில் பெரும்பகுதியினர் இளைஞர்கள் ஆவர்.. …ஆகவே தொழில் நிபுணத்துவ குழுக்களைக் கவருவதற்கு நாம் வழி வகைகளைக் காண வேண்டும். காரணம் புதிய பாதையை வகுப்பதற்கு அவர்களுடைய அனுபவமும் அறிவும் நமக்குத் தேவை”, என்று அவர் மேலும் கூறினார்.

மஇகா இளைஞர் பிரிவுக்கான தேர்தல்களுக்கு வேட்பாளர் நியமன நாள் ஆகஸ்ட் 8 ம் தேதி ஆகும்.

“துணிச்சல்காரனுக்கு அதிர்ஷ்டம் துணை புரியும்”

தமது வாய்ப்புக்கள் பற்றி வினவப்பட்ட போது முத்துவேலு அடக்கமாகப் பதிலளித்தார். நம்பிக்கையுடன் காணப்பட்ட அவர் அதிர்ஷ்டம் தன் பக்கம் இருக்கும் என்று உறுதியாகக் கூறினார்.

“துணிச்சல்காரனுக்கு அதிர்ஷ்டம் துணை புரியும். நான் கடந்த ஒராண்டாக நாடு முழுவதும் பயணம் செய்து இளைஞர் பேராளர்களைச் சந்தித்துள்ளேன். எனது ஆற்றலுக்கு ஏற்றவாறு நான் ஆய்வு செய்துள்ளேன்….பேராளர்களின் உள்ளங்களை வெற்றி கொள்ள முடியும் என்று நான் உறுதியாக நம்புகிறேன். நான் வெற்றி பெறுவேன் என நம்புகிறேன்”, என்றார் அவர்.

கட்சியின் இளைஞர் பிரிவில் உள்ள சில உறுப்பினர்கள் குண்டர்கும்பல்களுடன் பிணைத்துப் பேசப்பட்ட போதிலும் முத்துவேலு இளைஞர் பிரிவு குறித்து வேறுவிதமான கருத்தை வெளியிட்டார்.

“மஇகா இளைஞர்கள் அர்ப்பணிப்புத் தன்மை கொண்டவர்கள், கடமையில் கவனம் செலுத்துகின்றவர்கள்”, என அவர் வலியுறுத்தினார்.

“அவர்கள் பட்டை தீட்டப்படாத வைரங்களைப் போன்றவர்கள்”

அந்தப் பதவிக்குப் போட்டியிடுவதற்கு கட்சித் தலைவரின் ஒப்பதலை அவர் பெற்றுள்ளாரா என்றும் அவரிடம் வினவப்பட்டது. அதற்கு அவர் “நான் அவரிடம் தெரிவித்தேன். அதனை அவர் ஏற்றுக் கொண்டார். … நன்று.. அவர் என்னை நிறுத்தவில்லை. அது ஒப்புதலுக்கு அர்த்தம் என நான் எடுத்துக் கொண்டேன்.”

தமது நோக்கத்தை மோகனிடமும் தெரிவித்து விட்டதாகவும் ஜனநாயக உணர்வில் போட்டியை அவர் வரவேற்றார் என்றும் முத்துவேலு குறிப்பிட்டார்.

சாமிவேலுவின் இளைய சகோதரரின் புதல்வரான முத்துவேலு 1989 ம் ஆண்டு மஇகாவில் சேர்ந்தார். 2005 ம் ஆண்டு அவர் இளைஞர் மேம்பாட்டுப் பிரிவு தலைவராக நியமிக்கப்பட்டார்.

~பட்டும் திருந்தாத ஜன்மமா நாம்? இன்னும் ஏன் இப்படி?

~உதயா போராட்டவாதியாகவே இருக்கட்டும். நம்முள் ஒருவனாக போராடட்டும்.

~முதலில் அவரை ஒரு போராட்டவாதியாக சாதிக்க விடுவோம். முதலில் சாதிக்கட்டும். நமக்கு உதவட்டும். பின்பு அரசியலுக்கு போகட்டும்.

~நல்லவனையும் சாக்கடையில் தள்ளவேணாம். தானாக விழுந்தால், அவரது துரதிஷ்டம்.

~ஊரை கூட்டி காட்டுவெதெல்லாம் சாதனையல்ல. அதுவும் அவர் தனியாக நிற்கவில்லை.அவர் கைகோர்த்து நின்றவர் எல்லாம், இப்போது எங்கே? தனிக்கருத்துக்களால் பிரிந்துவிட்டனரா? ஐந்து பேரை ஒன்றாக வைத்திருக்க இயலாதவர், பல கருத்து, பல நிலை, பல மொழிகள் என இருக்கும் நம்மவர்களுக்கு தூணாக நிற்பாரா? இல்லை நமக்கு ஏற்கனவே உள்ள சுமைகளில்; பத்தோடு பதினொன்னு, அத்தோடு இதுவும் ஒன்னா?

~இதுவரைக்கும் அவர் தனித்து செய்த சேவைகளை பட்டியலிட இயலாது. அவர் பின்னால் துணைக்கு நின்றவர் பலபேர். எல்லாரும் ஒன்றாக இணைந்து அரசியலுக்கு வரட்டும். நாம் கைதட்டுவோம். கைகொடுப்போம்.

~நமக்குத் தேவை ஒரு நல்ல சமூக சேவையாளன். அரசியல்வாதியல்ல. “என்னையும் அரசியல்வாதி ஆக்கிவிட்டார்களே” என்று பின்னாளில், நம்மைப்பார்த்து குறை சொல்லக்கூடாது.

~அரசியல் ஒரு சாக்கடை. அதை சுத்தம் செய்ய போகிறேன் என்று சொன்னவர் எல்லாம், அதே சாக்கடையில் கப்பலோட்டியதை சரித்திரம் சொல்லும். சொன்ன வார்த்தை காத்தோடு போச்சு; கண்ட கனவு ஓட்(டு)டோடு போச்சு, கண்ணம்மா ! இப்படி சோகக்கதை பாடியதெல்லாம் இனியும் தொடரனுமா?

~அரசியலுக்குப் போனால், தன் நாற்காலியை காப்பாற்றிக்கொள்ளவே அவருக்குத் நேரம் பத்தாது. அறிக்கை விடுவதில் சிந்தனை எல்லாம் இருக்கும். இதில் நம்மை பற்றி நினைக்க போறாரா? கோரிக்கைகள் வைக்கும் நாமே அவருக்கு முதல் எதிரியாய் தோன்றுவோம். அவர் விளம்பரம் படுத்தும் நிகழ்ச்சிகளே அவருக்கு முக்கியமாய் தெரியும்.

~இனியும் திண்ணை பேச்சு வேணாம். விளம்பரத்தில் மயங்க வேணாம். அறிவுபூர்வமாக யோசிப்போமேயானால், நமக்குத் தேவை ஒரு சுயநலமில்லா சமூகவாதி,போராட்டவாதி ! அரசியல்வாதியல்ல !

ஒரு மரவெட்டி கிளையில் இருந்துகொண்டு அந்தக் கிளையையே வெட்டினானாம்.

உமாதேவியார் பார்த்துவிட்டு, இவன் என்ன முட்டாளாக இருக்கிறானே, கீழே விழுந்து சாக அல்லவா போகிறான் என்று சிவபெரிமானிடம் சொன்னாராம். அதற்கு அவர் சொன்னாராம், சரி அவன் உதவிக்கு உன்னைக் கூப்பிட்டால் நீ போய் காப்பாற்று; என்னைக் கூப்பிட்டால் நான் போகிறேன் என்றாராம்.

இருவரும் மிகவும் கவனமாக அடுத்து என்ன நடக்கப் போகிறது என்று ஆவலோடு பார்த்துக்கொண்டிருந்தார்களாம்.

அவன் இருந்த கிளை இறுதியாக முறிந்து விழுந்தது. அவன் “ஐயோ” என்று கதறிக்கொண்டே கீழே விழுந்தான். விழுந்த வேகத்தில் செத்துப்போனான்.

உமாதேவியார் என்ன இறந்துபோனானே என்றாராம். அதற்கு சிவன் சொன்னாராம், அவன் எமனின் மனைவி “ஐயோ” வை அல்லோ கூப்பிட்டான். அதனால், ஐயோ வந்து அவன் உயிரை எடுத்துக்கொண்டு போய்விட்டார் என்றாராம்.

இப்படித் தான் “ஐயோ” என்று சொல்லக்கூடாது என்பதற்காக எனக்கு அம்மா சொன்ன கதை.

Dear Friends,

As usual we are looking into our community that facing many social problems.
Where should we start to repair. Look at the basic design that is our childrens.
How do we design their future? As parents do we do all the might that we should?

A big number of parents had failed to Design their Childrens path of life in early 80's
due to that we can see our social problems. Look back into that year (80's) how do
parents brought up their childrens, never guide them well, Yesterday's failure today's
Disaster.

But looking into year 2000 and above the trend are changing, everyone want to bring
up their child in proper way, parents are more becoming their friends, but this should be
a healthy one that can give positive input to the child.

Checking child on what they are doing in schools, college and universities are important.
Their group of friend that in their circle is very important.

Nevertheless there are still many parents in 70's and 80's mode, just leave the plant to grow by it self or pay someone to grow their plant. In this both way no one can get quality plant.
The trend now is just give the money to the child caretaker to grow the child, parents to bz with work.

We should aim in growing smart child, the child should be able to do better every time it grow. It should interact with all kind of people and know where it stands. Knowledge of good matter, Avoiding bad matter, intract, uplift the society around it, multi knowledge and extra positive matters should be given as mineral in to the Child.

Starting from house and continuing it to schools (especially tamil schools) is a good practice. Atleast it can avoid social problem that been created by some irresponsible Malaysian Indian.

RE: A CHALLENGE TO HOME MINISTER- HISHAMUDDIN

Earlier this week the Home Minister had issued a statement in Parliament amongst others that I had left the Country on the 28th November 2007 to lobby International support and to make efforts to meet leaders of the LTTE.

The above information has apparently been obtained from intelligence reports.

The baseless and unfounded allegation of Hishamuddin that I had made attempts to make contact with LTTE is absolutely ridiculous. I challenge Hishamuddin to provide the proof to the Malaysian public openly.

If that was the case why did the British government grant me political asylum status under the United Nation 1951 Convention relating to the status of refugee owing to fear of persecution by the Malaysian government for social activities that was carried out by HINDRAF in Malaysia. For the public’s information, LTTE is a proscribed organization both in England and India. In that case even the other Hindraf lawyers who had faced illegal incarceration are equally exonerated from such malicious allegation.

On 5th December 2007 it was the Attorney General Abdul Gani Patail who made this unfounded allegation in an open Court bail application hearing against innocent Hindraf supporters. Thereafter on the 13th December 2007 the Inspector General of Police and the Former Prime Minister made similar unfounded allegations against HINDRAF Lawyers.

When challenged to prove those allegations they went mute and the facts were twisted that the Lawyers had raised religious sentiments when the Lawyers had merely advocated the rights of Freedom of Religion under Article 11 of the Federal Constitution and Article 18 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

I have always maintained that I am a Human Rights Advocate and have never deviated in my duty to uphold the Malaysian Federal Constitution and protect the Rule of Law.

I have no fear of the UMNO regime and its prison and have proven myself when I voluntarily denied bail upon arrest on a politically motivated sedition charge on 23rd November 2007.

I now challenge Hishamuddin to do the following:

a) immediately issue a fresh International Passport under my name ( I will not accept the old passport which has been invalidated and most likely “marked invalidated” by the British Immigration Office);

b) arrest and charge me in open court for treason upon my return for the alleged “attempt to make contact with LTTE”

The “Criminal” Charge would give me an opportunity to prove that this Government had no evidence whatsoever and the whole works of the system right from the former Prime Minister, Attorney General, Inspector General of Police to the current leaders have lied and misled the Malaysian public and deliberately demonized HINDRAF, my colleagues and me.

If Hishamuddin fails to do the above he should publicly apologize to all Malaysians and Parliamentarians for misleading them.

Well put.I share similar views.The real culprits are the Gerakan and the BN cronies.Im surprised why none of the Makkal Sakthi or Hindraf leaders questioning them.The protest against the Penang govt make no sense at all or is there any hidden agenda?.Im very suspicious of the Hindraf leaders.One prominent Hindraf leader with UMNOs support opened a new political party lately,and throwed his support to the BN government.Another leader is in the process of opening one more partyas per todays STAR news paper.We are so handful already flooded with so many Indian base parties, mean to say you could win a seat without associating any prominent political party.My advise is this,try to unite among yourselves than preach us.Dont think Indians are fools and take us for granted.

Parents are children's first and best teachers. Children learn many things formally and informally from the rest of the world but parents are the only ones whom they look to for learning to live right. The best gift we could give our children is the excellence edge.

It is age old wisdom that children don't do what we tell them to do but they do what we do. Hence the moment we become parents we have to examine everything we do and reengineer ourselves to become the role model of perfection. Everytime we tell a lie, we are teaching our children to lie. Everytime we gossip, we are teaching our children to gossip. Everytime we say negative things we are teaching our children to be negative. Everytime we blame others for something that's gone wrong in our lives we are teaching our children to always blame and never take responsibility.

Parents, I invite you to try this. Everyday when you wake up, ask yourself what you would like to teach your children today. Read a book or an article on the subject and make sure you teach your children the subject. At the end of the day before retiring to bed ask yourself whether any of your actions or words throughout the day have contradicted what you taught your children. If the answer is yes, you have to set out to be more congruent the next day. You will find your character improving tremendously as a result of this practise and your children will also turn out great. They will become very close to you and be more open to discuss anything with you.

Our children are mirrors of who we are.

The old tamil movie influence debate

Last Tuesday, I caught a Minnal FM programme where listeners were asked to give their views on a statement by the Consumer Association of Penang that cinema influence was contributing to the social ills among Indians in the country. The listeners views were mixed with most of the younger ones rejecting CAP's statement while the the not-so-young adults supporting CAP. The younger listeners said they were level headed and could adopt the positive and reject the negative (crime as in parang wielding). One not so young listener pointed out how as a youth she was taken in by the romanticism of the `Bobby' Hindi movie and was totally spellbound by the scenes. She described how youngsters are so impressionable that they start emulating what they saw in a movie, the moment they step out of the cinema.

Recently when asked if there was a link between the overly crime based Indian cinema and the escalating crime rate among Indians in the country, MIC president Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu shot back: "There are a billon people in India watching these movies and they are not affected."Could it be that these movies while being regarded by those in India as merely an entertainment, had somehow filled the cultural vacuum evident in the lives of Malaysian Indians.

Being cut off from the Indian mainstream culture embellished with its wide array of folk and classical music, art, literature and drama; the only avenue left for Malaysian Indians is the all encompassing cinema.Herein lies the danger as cinema being unregulated by the intellectual, self realised and wise guardians of Indian culture; has been influenced by profit mongers who have no qualms about feeding the frenzy of wanton joy seeking youth. No thought is given to the education and self realisation of youths in movies (except for a few rare producers who use their artistic authority to make excellent movies that are educational, inspirational and informative) .

Police sources accept CAP's views pointing out that many of today's Indian gangsters were emulating Indian movies in the way they are concealing parangs at the back of their shirt or killing victims by slitting their throats with the swish of a parang.

CAP which has long been on a crusade to stop alcohol abuse among the Indian community could also vouch on the movie influence of alcohol drinking among youths. While in the earlier Indian movies drinking was portrayed as taboo, today's movies promote drinking as an accepted social norm in Indian society. The influence is so great now that Indian school boys as young as 13 years of age are taking to drinking alcohol. Indian pubs are welcoming their patrons to bring their whole family along to partake in the `good food' and `cinema songs' delivered by their resident music bands.The debate goes on but what is to be done to ensure that our youth are educated in the art of intelligently appreciating Indian movies? Will it help if parents give their children a strong grounding in some form of Indian folk or classical artform during their formative years (five to fifteen)?

‘பிரிட்டிஷ்காரர்களின் பிரித்தாளும் சூழ்ச்சி’ என்று சொல்வது ஒரு வழக்கமாகவே ஆகிவிட்டது. ஆனால் அது எந்த அளவுக்குச் சரி?தமிழர்களாகிய நாம் எப்போதுமே சிறு சிறு குழுமங்களாகவும் தனித்தனி நாடுகளாகவும் சிறுசிறுநாடுகளாகவும் பிரிந்துதான்இருந்திருக்கிறோம். ஈராயிரத்தைந்நூறு ஆண்டுகளுக்கும் முன்பாக தமிழகத்தை முடியுடை வேந்தர் மூவர் ஆண்டுவந்திருக்கிறார்கள்.அவர்கள் மட்டுமில்லை. பதினெட்டு வேளிர்கள் அவர்களின் ஊர்களை, குட்டிநாடுகளை ஆண்டனர். இன்னும் மலையமான், அதியமான், தொண்டைமான் என்று சில சிற்றரசர்கள். சங்ககாலத்துக்குப் பின்னர் தமிழகத்தில் பல்லவர்/பாண்டியர். அவர்களுக்குள்ளும் மற்றவர்களுடனும் முன்னூறு ஆண்டுகளில் அறுபத்திச்சொச்சம் போர்கள் புரிந்திருக்கின்றனர். அவர்கள் சளைத்துக் களைத்துப் போய்விட்ட பிறகு சோழர்கள் ஆண்டனர். அவர்கள் பாண்டியர்களுடனும் மற்றவர்களுடனும் முன்னூறு ஆண்டுகளில் எண்பதுக்கும் மேற்பட்ட போர்கள் புரிந்தனர்.பின்னர் சோழர்களுடனும் சேரர்களுடன் பாண்டியர்கள் சண்டை போட்டதுடன் தங்களுக்குள்ளும் போட்டுக்கொண்டனர். விஜயநகரத்தினர் தமிழகத்தை முதலில் நூறு அமரநாயக்கத் தானங்களாகப் பிரித்தனர். பின்னர் மூன்று நாயக்கர்களின் தலைமையில் மூன்று மண்டலங்கலாகப் பிரித்து, அவர்களின்கீழ் எழுபத்திரெண்டு பாளையங்களை ஏற்படுத்திவைத்தனர். இந்த மூன்று நாயக்கர்களும் தங்களுக்கும் சண்டை யிட்டுக்கொண்டனர். அவர்களெல்லாம் தெலுங்கர்களாக இருந்தாலும் அவர்களின் படைகளின் பெரும்பகுதியினர் தமிழர்கள் அல்லவா?பின்னர் அந்த எழுபத்திரண்டு பளையங்களும் தஞ்சை மராட்டிய நாடு, ராமநாதபுரம், புதுக்கோட்டை, சிவகங்கைச்சீமை ஆகிய நாடுகளும் இருந்தன. அவர்களுக்கும் மேலே ஆர்க்காட்டு நவாப். இந்த நிலையில்தான் வெள்ளைக்காரர்கள். பிரெஞ்சுக்காரர்களுக்கும் இங்கிலீஷ்காரர்களுக்கும் இடையே உலகளாவிய அளவில் நடைபெற்ற போட்டாபோட்டிகளில் நம்ம ராசாக்களும் ஓரம்சார்ந்து சேர்ந்து சண்டையிட்டனர். நவாபாக இருக்கட்டும், மொகலாயராக இருக்கட்டும்; பிரிட்டிஷ்/பிரெஞ்சாக இருக்கட்டும். நம்மிடையே இருந்த பிளவு/பூசல்களைப் பயன்படுத்திக்கொண்டனர். 1801-இல் எல்லாமே ஓய்ந்தது. கும்பினிக் குடையின் கீழ் எல்லாத் தமிழர்களும் மெட்ராஸ்ப்ரெஸிடென்ஸி, புதுக்கோட்டை ஸ்டேட் ஆகியவற்றில் வாழ்ந்தார்கள். நிம்மதியாக, சட்டங்களுக்கும் பிரிட்டிஷ் நீதிக்கும் பாதுகாப்புக்கும் உட்பட்டு. மூவாயிரம் ஆண்டுகளாகத் தங்களுக்குள் பிரிந்திருந்த தமிழ்க்குடியினர் முதன்முறையாக ஒன்றாக ஒற்றுமையாக(?)வாழ்ந்தனர். பிரிட்டிஷாரின்கீழ்.

Think where you'd like to be in 1 year or 5 years. Be realistic by starting with small, daily goals, then build up from there. Re-evaluate your goals from time to time and be prepared to adjust them as changes occur in your life.

3. ESTABLISH PRIORITIES. Do you often feel rushed because "there's no time"? Why not regulate the pace of your life? Plan ahead. Make a list of tasks in order of priority. Concentrate on what's really important to you and drop those things that only waste your energy.

4. TAKE TIME OUT. Spend a few minutes alone each day to break the routine. This helps ease stress and gives you a better perspective of what's around you. Set aside time during the week for recreation, hobbies, or exercise. Regular exercise is an excellent way to reduce stress. Physical fitness gives you a feeling of well-being by relieving tension and increasing productivity.

5. HAVE FAITH. Peace of mind comes to those who trust in God's power to lessen life's burdens through prayer.

6. THINK POSITIVELY. Having a positive attitude will help you assert yourself and feel more in control. You waste energy if you constantly criticize yourself or set unrealistic goals. Negative thoughts generally produce negative results. Instead of saying, "I can't," practice saying, "I can." You'll be surprised how much more you can accomplish.

7. HAVE A SENSE OF HUMOR. Laughter can be one of the best medicines for stress. Being able to laugh at yourself and the world can break tension and give you some relief from stress.

8. COMMUNICATE. Suffering in silence only increases the stress you build up inside. Talk over your feelings and concerns with your family, a friend, counselor, preacher, or health professional. "Thinking out loud" like this not only relieves stress, but may also shed new light on your problems. Learn to listen and consider suggestions with an open mind.

9. MAKE DECISIONS. Most people have no idea how much stress they create for themselves by resisting change. They wait, hoping a situation will go back to the way it was. Why wait when you have choices and could make a decision? When it's time to change old habits and move forward, make your own change for the better.

10. GET SUPPORT. Do you sometimes find problems too personal to discuss? Or feel they may be too much of a burden on others? Find a support group in your community. Remember, you're not alone. Other people with similar problems understand what you're going through without the need for lengthy explanations. They share your concerns and they want to learn how to cope with stress, too.

Dear Members, Hindraf started the fireworks to jeopardise BN in the previous Election,and they Did by Opp won 5 State. Did any of the 5State have Indian Leaders,that have power to decide. Think...? Incident in Kmpg Buah Pala, both Leaders are quite whether its from Opp or Goverment,When election they come get sympathy vote from villagers. Think? Death among Indians in Lockup,have any this case solved, it can be raised in Parliament or Media by Indian Leaders,Think? .. Now, Indians are forming political party,that will divide the indians as our majority is lowest in Malaysia. Think? Where will our Indian Children future goes? Any body Knows,but we can make changes. Thinks Guys...

நன்று செய்யும் அரசு இதுவென நம்பி சிந்திய கண்ணீர் கடலென ஆகும் என ஆங்காங்கே சுட்டினேன். ஊழல் பல செய்வோரை இனங்கண்டு திட்டினேன். நம்மவருக்கு உதவமறுக்கும் ஆட்சியாளர்கள் யாவரென காண்பாய் என தம்பிகள் பலரிடம் கணிணி ஓலையிட்டேன். மற்ற இனத்தவர் அனுபவிக்கும் சலுகைகளை ஒப்பிட்டேன். நம்மவர் நிலையெண்ணி ஓலமிட்டேன்.
